AUC Twenty20 Cup
Friday 5 December
The annual AUC Twenty20 cup was run this week, hosted by University of Queensland, the competition features cricket teams from nine different Australian Universities, with finals to be played Friday 5 December, this is the first year that Monash has sent a team up.
Monash had a good start to the series, winning it’s first two games, including receiving a bonus point for bowling University of NSW out on Tuesday 2 December for under 100 runs.
The quarter finals again saw Monash playing well, easily accounting for SCU with the loss of only a single wicket during the run chase, Sampson scored an undefeated 60 runs and Daly was also undefeated on 47 to top off an impressive 2 wickets for 11 runs in the first innings. This match put us in the top four Universities in the tournament.
A loss in the Semi Final against USYD saw us play off against arch rivals Melbourne University in the Bronze Medal Match, which also unfortunately saw us getting accounted for.
Congratulations to the Monash University Twenty20 Cricket team for putting us in the top four cricketing Universities in the country.
