Monash are Badminton Masters

Monash University graduates and current members of Monash Badminton Club recently competed in the Australian Masters Games held in Geelong from 20 February to 1 March 2009.

The team, consisting of four men and four women, took part in the event for the first time entered themselves in the Team Event, Mens Singles, Mens Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

The team completed a clean sweep of the competition, winning 4 gold medals for their efforts.

Loke Poh, President of the Badminton club is now getting ready for the next competition, commenting “World Masters Games here we come!”

The World Masters Games are to be held in Sydney in October this year.
