Monash wins State Badminton Pennant title

The 2009 Victorian State Pennant season concluded at the weekend with Monash Blues taking the honour over defending Champions the Badminton Academy of Victoria. 

It was still a closely fought final, with the Badminton Academy of Victoria defending well and coming genuinely close to winning, if not for some courageous play from the Monash Blues to reclaim their 2007 title.

The victory was even more remarkable for the fact that Monash’s second team, Monash Gold, finished in fourth position in the competition and unlucky not to win a bronze medal for their efforts.

Congratulations to all participating teams for their competitive spirit, good sportsmanship and determination to win.
