Beach Day

Monday 2 March

More than 500 students from Monash Caulfield and Peninsula took to Mordialloc Beach for Beach Day 2009 as part of Orientation Week.

The day revolved around the students, with a range of activities including volleyball, tug of war, tunnel ball and other team-building games planned for them, as well as a barbeque lunch provided by Rotary.

Students were glad of the support from Monash Sport and MONSU Caulfield and Peninsula staff in the running of the day. “It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed the games and the food and getting to know the other people from my campus, the instructors were great” one participant said.

Monash Sport was also superbly helped out by around 12 high school students from the AFL SEDA (Sports Education and Development Australia) program, as part of their studies.

Despite a few clouds in the sky the day got warmer and warmer, with more than a few students taking the opportunity to go for a quick dip as well.
