Charlotte’s first quest for Paralympic goldMonash Sport has supported one of our young Paralympians in her quest for gold in Beijing in September. Charlotte Saville, 17, will compete in the 200m run and javelin at the Beijing Paralympics. Saville’s father John has been a long time member of the Peninsula campus fitness centre and Saville was provided with a free membership last year to help with her training. The Frankston Athletics Club member won gold at the FESPIC Games in Kuala Lumpur in 2006 in the 100m and 200m and is the current Australian record holder for javelin in her class. She trains at her club's home venue: Ballam Park Athletic Track and is a regular Frankston team member at the Athletics Victoria Shield Competition.
Saville said she was looking forward to being part of the Australian team Away from the track Saville is currently completing Year 12 at Padua College in Mornington and is aiming to get into a Music/Performing Arts course at an Arts Academy or university next year.
