Boost for Basketball at Monash

Monash University Director of Basketball, Dale Waters has been selected as the Head Coach of the Australian Women’s Basketball Under 19 team to compete at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championships.

Dale has been with Monash University since January of this year.

Dale’s involvement with basketball has been positive for Monash, as Head Coach of the Dandenong Rangers WNBL (Womens National Basketball League) team he has brought valuable experience to his role as Director of Basketball, working out of the Monash University High Performance Sport Centre.

In other basketball news, WNBL Dandenong Rangers player Catherine Guest is now a member of the Monash University community, studying at the Clayton campus she is looking forward to the challenge of balancing a professional sport career with academic life.

Catherine was selected for a scholarship to play for the Dandenong Rangers due to her outstanding achievements as a State junior, her selection as a regular attendee at Junior Australian development camps.
