Monash on AUS Board

The 2008 Australian University Sport (AUS) Annual General Meeting was held the morning of the 19 May.
AUS is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia and currently has 46 members, which represents more than one million students.
AUS operates regional, national and international sporting programs. This covers over forty sports in championship and games format, including the prestigious Australian University Games amongst others.
At the meeting, AUS recognised that the strength of Monash University in sport continues to grow on and off the field and subsequently, the AUS board has changed in response.
Monash University Vice Chancellor, Professor Richard Larkins was elected unopposed as the new President of AUS, replacing Dr. Jeff FitzGerald who retired from the board.
Director of Monash Sport, Martin Doulton was also elected to the board.

2009 Australian University Snow Sports Championships, 30 August – 3 September
2009 Australian University Games, 28 September – 3 October
Monash will have strong representation in all upcoming events, including a nine strong contingent of Monash University Athletes representing Australia at the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
