TeamMONASH™ supports a worthy cause

Monday 30 March

On Friday 27 March, over 20 TeamMONASH™ volunteers supported the running of the Oxfam Trailwalker event.

The Oxfam Trailwalker challenge involves getting a team of four across 100km of bushland in less than 48 hours, and collectively to raise at least $1,000 to help overcome poverty and suffering around the world.

Oxfam Trailwalker is all about teamwork and it is a great way for friends to bond or for work colleagues to develop team spirit. Teams need to start together, go through each checkpoint together, and finish together.

At this stage some teams have raised in excess of $15,000 each.

This event posed a massive logistical exercise to run. In total, over 800 volunteers worked tirelessly on the event weekend to make it possible. The volunteers worked in various roles from checkpoint coordinators, trail marshals and parking coordinators to drivers, check-in and out operators, podiatrists and physiotherapists.

Based at the Silvan checkpoint, TeamMONASH™ proudly brought their spirit and enthusiasm, to ensure all teams had fun and were motivated to get through to their next checkpoint.
