Social sport is reaching new heights at the Parkville campus

Tuesday 7 April

The response from students to the new 3 on 3 basketball has been significantly more than originally hoped for, with students lining up to play in the competition.

Over 30 participants have entered the competition which is held on the new multipurpose court. Every Tuesday lunchtime the court comes alive with excitement, with 20 to 30 spectators watching each match played.

A state basketball player has been recruited through this competition by Nicole Schmidt (Sports Programs Project Officer) to try out for the Australian University Games in September.

Social sport is a great way to keep fit and have fun and is a great way to break up your day at work or study while at Monash. Many teams go on to compete at the Monash Games.

The Monash Games present an opportunity for staff and students across all Victorian campuses of the university to play and compete in their chosen sport in a fun and friendly environment. This year the competition is being held over 16 and 17 July.
