TeamMONASH™ goes the distance in Singapore

TeamMONASH™ joined with over 50,000 people and participated in the annual Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon for the fourth time on Sunday 7 December, 2008.

The growth of our team continued with more than 500 people representing Monash University this year, connecting students, staff, alumni, friends and family from around the globe.

Braving the humidity and heat, early risers made their way to the TeamMONASH™ marquee from 5am and participated in distances ranging from 10km to 42km.

TeamMONASH™ made their appearance with participants and volunteers standing out in their vibrant TeamMONASH™ uniforms. It was great to see a number of volunteers supporting TeamMONASH™ with chants of “GO MONASH!”

Staff, students and alumni from Malaysia joined in the event as well as a number of representatives from the Monash University Swim Club from Melbourne as participants and supporters, to make the event a great success.
 
Monash Alumnus, Byron Wee said that ‘the event was great and this was my first marathon, which I couldn’t have done without the support of TeamMONASH™, and I look forward to participating again with TeamMONASH™ in 2009’.
