Monash Sport through its Trips and Tours program, ran a four-night trip to Sydney from Thursday 11 September for 27 Monash University students. Students stayed at a hostel on Pitt Street in the middle of the city, where they could come and go to the organized activities as they pleased and strengthen new friendships.

The trip included a guided tour of Sydney which explored the botanical gardens, the shrine of remembrance, the Opera House, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Chow He, a student at Monash University said “The weather was a warm 23 degrees, and the group had lunch at café’s along Circular Quay.  Throughout the walk, students took photos to show their families and friends the amazing sights of Sydney.”

An exclusive cruise around Sydney Harbour was held on the first night, “It's a two-storey ferry, on the ground floor we danced to great music. On the second floor, an enjoyable relaxed atmosphere”, Chao commented.

Recovery on Saturday morning consisted of a day trip to the Blue Mountains, which stopped at many lookouts, including the Three Sisters.  That night the group attended a ‘White Party’ at the Gaff, a nightclub in Oxford Square Chao also said, “We had dinner outside, watching the dynamic nightlife in motion and the atmosphere was really friendly”.

As part of a guided beach tour on the final day, students walked the shores of the famous Bondi Beach. By way of various coastal paths and inlets they reached Coogee Beach where a relaxed meal and a drink in the afternoon sun at the Palace Hotel Pub provided the ideal ending to an exiting weekend.
